Megabytes of data can build up in the
cache directories of Web browsers. The
cache holds copies of everything on every Web page you visit and it stays there until you
dump the cache. Internet Explorer
and Netscape Navigator both feature a push-button method of flushing the cache. Sometimes
referred to as deleting your Temporary Internet Files.
1a. In Internet Explorer 6.0 select Tools/Internet
Options, then click on the General tab.
Look at the Temporary Internet files section and click on the Delete Files
button (when a box pops up it will ask you if you want to delete all the
files and below that you need to put a check in the box next to
Delete all offline content, as well as the clicking the Delete Cookies
section.

In IE 4.0, select View/Internet Options, then click on the General tab. Look at Temporary
Internet files and click on the Delete Files button.

In Internet Explorer 3.0, select View/Options, then click on the Advanced
tab. Click the button labeled Settings under "Temporary Internet files,"
and then click on the "Empty folder" button.
2. In Netscape, select
Options/Network Options, then click on the Cache tab. Click on the "Clear disk cache
now" button to empty the cache. A prominent symptom of a full cache is when you get
numerous "Can't find DNS Server..." errors.
This should be done on
a regular basis!
About every 6 hours of accumulated online time. After you clear it the
first time you log on to any Home Page it will take the same amount of time to load that
same page as it did the very first time you viewed it.
IMPORTANT:
You must do this or you will experience a slow response in receiving web pages, problems
with connectivity to the Internet and hard drive crashes!

your History!

In Internet Explorer 3.0, select
View/Options, then click on the Navigation Tab. Look to bottom of box and click the Clear
History button,
In Internet Explorer 4.0, select
View/Internet Options, then click on the General tab. Look at the History section and
click on the Clear History button.
This will free up disk space
on your computer.
