Namaste Cafe Computer Learning Center

We have all experienced computer frustration at one time or another. That's why I offer this information here. So you don't have to;

A. Throw your computer out a window.
B. Run your computer over with a car.
C. Shoot your computer with a pistol.
D. Hit your computer with a baseball bat.
E. All of the above.

Seriously! When I first got into computers I knew nothing!!! I even took a computer class and the only thing I learned was how to use ONE program! Nothing about what to do in Windows and certainly nothing about the Internet. After running an ISP for 3 1/2 years, I learned a trick or two. I want to share this knowledge with all of you. What you will find on this site right now is just the tip of the iceberg.

I intend to post any questions/answers and information that I receive through e-mail in the form of a Q & A page. But you guys are going to have to throw me some problems so I can troubleshoot with you. It is important to remember how many variables are present when you have a computer problem. So many things can be going on at once. So when you ask a question, please list every detail you can think of when you e-mail for help. Here are some examples:

-=:<>:=- Lightening storms.
-=:<>:=- Wiring problems in my house.
-=:<>:=- Noisy phone lines.
-=:<>:=- My grandchildren, son in law, daughter, son, neighbor, etc. was on it last.
-=:<>:=- I installed/uninstalled a program in the last few weeks.
-=:<>:=- New hardware has been added in the last few weeks.

Also, be sure to list what Operating system and version you are using. Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT.

I am sorry that I know very little about Apple computers and Operating systems. If you have a question, I will see what I can do and at least point you in the direction for more help.

I will need to know what browser and version you use to access the Internet. Microsoft Internet Explorer/Netscape 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0

I know absolutely nothing about any version of AOL's browser. I have never been with their service and cannot get into their site to learn about it. I would love to post information here for AOL browsers since half of America is online with them. If you are guided to share what you know, please send it on to me.

Please browse these pages and do the Basic Windows Housekeeping Steps as well as Clear your Cache, before you e-mail with a problem. This way we can omit having to go back and do these procedures before we can start troubleshooting the problem.
