What is a Personal Page?


     leaf clusterIt's kind of like a journal of sorts. Your home page is a place for you to find out what you like, what you think, and how you want to present this information to others. It seems the whole world is talking through their home pages.

     leaf clusterThere are alot of interesting people out there. They talk about what they believe in, you know, what moves them. The Internet is one place that you can reach out to others without feeling threatened. Because, you know that if someone doesn't care for what your saying, they can just click on to somewhere else. And those that are interested in the same things that you are will probably e-mail you and tell you of more people that are interested in the same things. Ergo ... you start making netfriends! If there is something, anything, that you think just one other person might agree on or be interested in, start a home page. Nowadays you can use most word processing programs to build your own home page. And there's alot of people around that would be glad to show you how, if you just ask.

    leaf clusterPeople, we work hard in our lives, don't we deserve the right to voice our opinions, to be heard! We can actively make a difference via the Internet. Never in history could so many people communicate with so many others in a forum of this size. It's a great time to be alive! We can sit in the safety of our own homes and participate with the world as we choose to experience it. We get to make our own choices about what information is put in front of us. Not the Media, not the people at work, and not even the people you do or don't socialize with. You are the one to decide! You are more in control of what you feed your mind! Good, bad or otherwise.

It's a place to honor somebody or something. You begin to think about people as a whole, what we have in common and what we don't. Go look at the personal pages out there, you can find listings on every search engine. Type in what your interested in and see what others are saying too. The World truly is your oyster. Find the pearls! 

     leaf clusterOf course there are the bad seeds out there too just like anywhere else. Everybody has the right to discuss anything they want to and there are those that use the Internet to discuss things that some may find offensive. But we have control of the keyboard and mouse! We don't have to acknowledge it or go looking for it. It's kind of like switching TV channels, millions of channels. You can also set your browser to block these types of channels to protect your children and loved ones. It's called responsible behavior. Be responsible for what you view and for what you put on your homepage. Remember that anybody any age can view it. Use it as a place to introduce yourself and your family to the world.

     leaf clusterThe bottom line here is this: This wonderful new medium (the Internet) is here so that we can be interactive with each other. Take advantage of it, stand up and be counted. Use it as a place to spread good news of anykind. We are all in this together, we can shape our world. We can help others. We can help ourselves! We can champion our own personal causes and meet thousands of others that feel the very same way we do. It is a place to unite and make real contributions to the human race. Or just a place to have a good time and forget about the rat race for a while. Take a trip to anywhere and never leave your chair. Don't be shy! Get involved, just because you can.
