THIS IS THE TRUE STORY OF A FAMILY UNDER SIEGE

Below are the real incidents as it happened by a family in Jakarta who were victims of the riot. They live in an apartment building in Pluit
(A Chinese majority compound)
Date of incident on May 14 1998, JAKARTA, INDONESIA
She has a younger brother and sister. Her whole family lives on the apartment complex. At about 9:15 am her apartment is surrounded by hundreds of fierce looking men. They were screaming " Butcher the Chinese", "Let's eat the pigs", and "Let's party". We lived on the 7th floor and we were called by our neighbor who lived at 3rd floor that the rioters have marched to the 2nd floor. Immediately, we were frightened and we pray as we hastily prepared to leave our apartment. We took the stair up, as there is no way we can go down as all the stairs are filled with the rioters. Regardless of the risk we run to the stairs to the 15 floor and stayed with one of our neighbors. In the hallway, we were surprised by emergence of the rioters from the lift; quickly we entered the room and stayed there. Our doors were banged loudly by the rioters (this time mostly Malays women and kids). At the same time we heard loud noises of pleas and screaming. Knowing that our turn could be near we quickly hide in the corner of the room. In the silence we could hear cries of small kids? "mama? its painful mama its painful" (apparently the young girls were being raped and beaten along with heir mothers)
We stayed inside the room for about half an hour when the noises had s ubsided. Slowly, we dared ourselves to peep out of the room, Oh my lord??..the view I am to see, I could not even described. We saw people were laying on the floor naked and beaten unconscious. I saw kids, little girls aged 10- 12 laid unconscious and naked on the floor. My younger sister upon looking at this screamed and hugged my dad crying endlessly. How could this happened at this age, we are not in Somalia we are at one of the best city in Asia. A prosperous city living like you. Then, we the whole family and our neighbor , Uncle Dodi and Auntie Vera a newly married couple slowly walked down the stairs. On the 10th floor we heard screams on the end of the hallway which draws us to the source. On the halfway we were surprised as we found as many as 60 people. We saw a Chinese girl in her 20s were screaming and tied by torn bed sheet. 4 people were raping her. Upon discovery, quickly we
Unfortunately, Veny, my younger sister was caught by the men. We tried to save her, but instead ended up being caught by them. My whole family, my father, mother, sister and brother as well as Uncle Dodi and Auntie Vera were caught, we were tied by the torn bed sheets. We were then brought to a room, my father and Uncle Dodi tried to ask them where are they taking us, but they do not answer instead keep their fierce looking face. Uncle Dodi try to bribe them but to no avail. One of them pulled Veny by the hair and pushed her on the sofa. Immediately I know that Veny is under great danger, I screamed to the top of my lung but was slapped until I bleed, and my dad who try to rescue her were beaten by wood stick until unconscious. My mom was immediately unconscious when she saw Veny being pulled. I can only pray to GOD not to let this disaster happen to us?? Uncle Dodi continuously tried to talk to them and bribing them with offers of money and anything to let us go but has no result?. Then Veny was pulled and her clothes were ripped off and raped by force by as many as 5 men.
Everyone started by chanting "ALLAH AKHBAR" (Islamic chant meaning "ALMIGHT GOD") before proceeding to the insulting and sadistic act. I could not stand to hear her scream and plea to let her go. She was held down by 4 men and raped by the other. In the meanwhile another 9 men came to the room, they pulled me and I saw Auntie Vera was also pulled. In the struggle I become unconscious, I was beaten as I tried to fight against them? Not knowing what happen? I woke up around 5 or 6 in the afternoon. When I woke up my head was dizzy and I realized that I wore no clothes? And I started to cry. When I woke up I started to cry. I feel so disappointed?? I remember my family are still in the room? Vaguely, I saw Auntie Vera was crying next to Uncle Dodi who was covered in blood?? I saw my mom was hugging my father? Again I fell unconscious??? The next time I woke up I was in the hospital and found my father and mother next to my bed. Under the pain which I can feel all over my body, I asked my dad what happened??? With sad look my dad told me while I was unconscious 6-7 men raped me? He was not sure as his vision was blurred from the beating mainly on the head, bad. They raped me by turning my body up and down and banging my head on the wall, probably hoping that I would regain consciousness and react and witness to the barbaric act. A show which they loved to see a struggle by a Chinese girl……..after that my dad told me "Veny is already gone". Immediately, I started crying until it could be heard all along the hallway. Why dad???????????? But I receive no answer?? Moments later my dad left the hospital room I guess in his own desperation to find the answer of what had befalled on his family.
Continue my cries feeling helpless and confused. I was hospitalized for 4 days until I recovered physically, but not mentally, It was an event which had slashed and changed my life forever. It was then a week later when I moved to a relative’s house I discovered what happen. When Veny was raped she tried to resist them, she was repeatedly slapped, in her last attempt she spit at one of her rapers, unhappy one of them took a knife and stab Veny like an animal repeatedly until she bleed to her death. Uncle Dodi also experienced the same, he was stabbed to death hile his wife was brutally raped repeatedly…GOD? Why does this has to happened? At the moment Auntie Vera is being accompanied by her sister, she is still in shock, she does not want to eat and always stares blank unfazed by her surroundings. She cried every hour and so were my mother and I. This incident could never be erased in my memory. No matter what consolation the government may offer, these barbaric men are on the loose and may also influence others to do this inhumane and despicable act????
Upon listening to her story, she never stop crying, her story is on of the hundreds of victims during the riots. One identical story is the action of the rapers to change ALLAH AHKBAR before continuing the disgusting act. DO they think what they did is SACRED? DO THEY THINK THEIR ACTIONS ARE APPROVED BY ALLAH/ WOULD ALLAH WANT THEM TO HURT, RAPED AND KILL ANOTHER HUMAN BEING? These rioters whom were glorified by the media internationally, of their reformation are being marred by the hideous act that were ever even surfaced on the world media. Could this because
human beings become a sacrifice to a change in the government? Which after all posed no immediate different to the life of many? Could we even let the sinners to go free without even prosecuting them for the sake of the reformation? Could we forgive the rapers of girls as young as 10 yrs olds, what wrong could they have done???? These riots are not just to upheld the goal to a better life but an excuse to random violence and opportunity to express their real intention toward the Chinese!!!! What could we do to at least help them " the Chinese minority" of not letting this to happen again??. As the media I plead of you to think otherwise and help them by bringing up the truth to the light thus hoping such sins never to repeat again. If you can feel the pain, I beg of you to investigate this further and let the world knows about this.???.thank you ?and wish us luck in our struggle to live as a human beings in our own country at least a country which we have regarded as our own but has turned to us when the going is bad.
Dear Holy Spirit of God, We pray now for external guidance as well as internal guidance when the times get rough. Let us find no losing streak upon us in our midst, and let us be in your undying guidance and protection from all things. We bind and cast away Satanic, demonic, dark or evil influences from the Godly people of the earth, and pray for the softening of the hearts of the evil ones, a touch of God to penetrate their wicked hearts, that they may come to know the meaning of their deeds with no folly. Let them see the wickedness of their ways and fall ashamedly at the feet of God. Dear God, we pray and trust that you will do the right thing in regards to these perpetrators., Blessed be the holy kingdom of God. We pray for the healing and lifting up of the victims of terrorists, and all those under oppression, as well as for the souls of those who have died. Be with us in all things. Forsake us not. We praise you with love everlasting.
