This section of the site is dedicated to those words that inspire us so greatly! The way I am going to set this up to start with, is by pasting my little inspirational goodies here. Later I plan to categorize them into topics. I am leaving them in e-mail form just as I had originally sent them out. I hope you find tons of treasures here! I will update every free chance I get.

These sharings have been collected from all over the internet to bring light and love to your life. I send them daily as a rule, but when life happens to me, I may miss a few days here and there. :) I am calling this sharing of love and light, Serenity's Hope. My hopes and dreams for all of us. Through love, sharing, caring, giving, trusting, forgiving, inspiring and the learning to become a whole, we will have a better world! At the bottom of the page a form is provided to subscribe to 2 different e-mail lists. One is the daily "Serenity's Hope" and the other is a discussion list called "Lightworkers Spreading the Light". This also includes the daily, "Serenity's Hope".
Click here to subscribe/unsubscribe if you chose to join us.

We are looking for Lightworkers to

Knowing who we are and knowing what life is a reflection of...
is another truth that can be a potent tool for growth.

Your relationship with yourself, life (others), and even God (Infinite
Intelligence - Divine Love - All that there is - Light - Spirit - and so
on...) is so important.

Understanding that you are life and that you are an individual expression of
Light (God) is a truth.  So being that you are life, and that God is life,
and that you are an expression of God...you begin to see how important it is to
know who you are and what you believe God is.

You are Infinite Intelligence.  You are Divine Love.
You are One with All that there is.  You are life.

So by stepping back to see what your relationship with life is...
you can truly see what kind of relationship you have with God and yourself.

Everyone and everything is life.  Life a reflection of how you trust, love,
and believe.

Some feel at the mercy of God (life).  So what do they believe?
That power outside of them can do them wrong or good at anytime.
That person has created being a victim.  A reflection of feeling powerless.

Some feel like God (life) judges them.  So that would create very
opinionated people in their life.  They would be at the mercy of someone's fault finding
ways. They would always worry about what others think of them.  A reflection of
feeling insecure.

Some feel God will fix all their problems just by asking.  So they run
around making messes out of their life, then they pray and ask for it to get
cleaned up magically.  This would create relationships where they would feel taken
advantage of by others.  Where people would ooze their issues over into this
person's life and want them to fix it.  A reflection of irresponsibility.

Rather it is feeling powerless, insecure, or irresponsible...these are just
reflections of we believe.  You are not powerless unless you think it.  So
stop!  You are not insecure!  You are a Divine Being.  So value your own
opinion.  Don't give anyone the power to make you feel bad, pretty, stupid,
special, ugly, worthless and so on.  If you know that you are a powerful
being of vast intelligence and unlimited potential...other people's opinion would
not matter to you.  Tell yourself that it is not your concern what others
think. For what they think comes from their belief systems...not your truth!
Take responsibility for being the Light.  Take responsibility for what you
believe.  Stop creating messes by not owning up to who you are.
And close the fix-it shop and stop saving others.  Give them back their
power and let them take responsibility for their life.  Take responsibility
for being a Spirit in a physical form.

Getting back to the point here.  Know who you are and what you believe
you are, is a huge wake up call to your gifts and powers of creating a
wonderful life.

I am love.
I am joy.
I am healthy.
I am unlimited.
I am beautiful.
I am life.
I am All good.
I am caring.
I am giving.
I am kind.
I am supportive.
I am wise.
I am intelligent.
I am sweet.
I am nurturing.

Think of Light...vast energy of All Knowingness and Unconditional Love.
Think of God (Spirit-Light-etc.)  Think of being the qualities of God.
Right now begin expressing your Higher Self...your Light Self.
Be strong, be wise, be powerful, be creative, be bright, be loving, be
secure, be respect-filled, be kind, be considerate.
Be All the things you want to receive from a loving giving Universe.
Be All the things God is...for you are an individual expression of the
Divine. Stop and think about what you believe God is.  Release old ideas, fears, and
limited thoughts of God...yourself...life.

Life is wonderful.  You are wonderful.  God is wonderful.  Your relationship
with yourself and All that there is (God, life, people, animals...) is wonderful.
This is where it should all begin.

Feel wonderful.  Be wonderful.  Express being wonderful.  See life as
wonderful.  Know God is wonderful.

Start here...then expand it to what you know in your heart
God is...you are...Life is!  Start with one at a time...like "Good"
Life is Good.  You are Good.  God is Good.  So be Good.  Express Good.
Know what Good means.  Is Good being kind, thoughtful, understanding,
gentle, nurturing?

Be the Light...Express being a Divine Being of Good!
Connect with life (others), God, and yourself at a higher level of focus,
thought and energy.

May this seed of truth assist your growth
and expansion on your path of Light,
Tami Sue

You can think. You can make good decisions.  You can make choices that
are right for you.  Yes, we all make mistakes from time to time. But we
are not mistakes. We can make a new decision that takes new information
into account. We can change our mind from time to time. That's our
right too. We don't have to be intellectuals to make good choices. In
recovery, we have a gift and a goal available to each of us. The gift
is called wisdom.

          No Matter What Happens

I remember a time when each day was long,
When the world was a playground and my life a song,
And I fluttered through years with barely a care,
Ignoring the future and what waited there.

School was intriguing and filled with delights.
I played away daytimes and dreamed away nights.
My parents assured me I had nothing to fear,
And that no matter what happened, they'd always
  be there.

Little I knew of a world outside home,
Where tragedy, sorrow and murder could roam.
All I saw were blue skies, rainbows and stars.
I looked past destruction of buildings and cars.

  As a child, my biggest concern was just me;
I had to be happy, I had to be free.
And if I was content, I would not shed a tear,
And no matter what happened, I still would be here.

  But as I grow up, darkness starts to set in;
My bright world has turned into concrete and tin.
  I now see the violence I looked past before;
My friends start to die and my heart hits the floor.

Deadly diseases claim people I love,
There are landfills below me, pollution above.
I often think back to when life was a game.
But no matter what happens, it can't be the same.

There are days when I just want to break down and howl,
To give up completely, to throw in the towel,
But I hold my head high and I push my way through.
I have too much to give and so much to do.

And I make a vow that, though it'll be hard,
I'll go on with a smile and play every card.
I'll give all I can, help others and love.
No matter what happens, life will bloom again,
And the strength I don't have will come from above.

So come, take my hand, and through darkness we will sail-
If we all join together, we never can fail.
We'll remember to care, remember to feel,
And no matter what happens, our world we will heal.

An angel on my shoulder
Smiled up at me today
I needed a friend, and the angel said
He would never go away

At times in my life, I have felt so alone
I could not keep my tears from falling
But now I know I am guided by love
When I hear my angel calling

In all of those moments
when I felt pain and sorrow
And I thought no one could hear
My angel gave me courage and strength
He was not gone, he was near

Yes, we all have times in our lives
When holding on is hard to do
But you are never alone, with an angel by your side
He is there to see you through

So, when your world keeps on turning
And many things do not seem to make sense
Just remember, your angel is there by your side
Close your eyes and feel his presence.

Shake It Off & Step Up

"A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule.  The mule fell into
the farmer's well.  The farmer heard the mule 'braying' ~ or whatever mules do
when they fall into wells.  After carefully assessing the situation, the
farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the
well was worth the trouble of saving.  Instead, he called his neighbors
together and told them what had happened... and enlisted them to help haul
dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery.

Initially, the old mule was hysterical.  But as the farmer and his neighbors
continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back... a thought struck him.  It
suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his
back, he should shake it off and step up.  This he did, blow after blow.
'Shake it off, and step up.  Shake it off and step up.'  He kept repeating
it to encourage himself.  No matter how painful the blows, or distressing the
situation seemed, the old mule fought 'panic' and just kept right on SHAKING
IT OFF AND STEPPING UP!

It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, STEPPED
TRIUMPHANTLY OVER THE WALL OF THAT WELL!  What seemed like it would bury him
actually blessed him ~ all because of the manner in which he handled his
adversity.

That's life!  If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and
refuse to give in to panic, bitterness or self-pity, THE ADVERSITIES THAT
COME ALONG TO BURY US USUALLY HAVE WITHIN THEM THE POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT AND BLESS
US!  Remember that FORGIVENESS, FAITH, PRAYER, PRAISE AND HOPE all are
excellent ways to 'SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP" out of the wells in which we
find ourselves!"

Deservability

"I am deserving.  I deserve all good.  Not some, not a little bit, but all
good.  I now move past all negative, restricting thoughts.  I am not bound
by any of the fears or prejudices of the current society I live in.  I no
longer identify with limitation of any kind.

In my mind, I have total freedom.  I now move into a new space of
consciousness, where I am willing to see myself differently.  I am willing
to create new thoughts about myself and about my life.  My new thinking
becomes new experiences.

I now know and affirm that I am at one with the Power of the Universe.  As
such, I now prosper in a number of ways.  The totality of possibilities lies
before me.  I deserve life, a good life.  I deserve love, an abundance of
love.  I deserve good health.  I deserve to live comfortably and to prosper.
I deserve joy and happiness.  I deserve freedom to be all that I can be.  I
deserve more than that.  I deserve all good.

The Universe is more than willing to manifest my new beliefs.  And I accept
this abundant life with joy, pleasure, and gratitude.  For I am deserving.
I accept it; I know it to be true.

And so it is!"

LESSONS IN FRIENDSHIP

True friendship is a soul-level connection.  Fortunate are you if
you develop five "true friends" during your entire lifetime.  Joanne
Blum, Ph.D. describes what being in friendship is like.  She writes, "We
are energized and uplifted.  We are filled with new ideas.  Feeling a
sense of understanding and of being understood, we are validated and
encouraged; we know we are not alone.  Our friends inspire us to grow.  What
we admire in them--their compassion, energy, joy, or peace--motivates us to
rise higher.  They become the mirror in which we see our better selves.
..We are spiritually invigorated by the wisdom and beauty we see in our
friends."

We are rarely taught the skills of friendship.  We grow up never
knowing our own abilities for contributing to friendship.  We often waste
irretrievable hours, even days or years, relating to people who are toxic to
us, demanding our time and energy for no good purpose.  In her book, "Lessons In
Truth," H. Emilie Cady warns, "If you can help such people, well; if not,
gather yourself together and do not waste a moment idly diffusing and
dissipating yourself to gratify their idleness.  You have no idea what you
lose by it."  We harm ourselves psychologically, emotionally and spiritually
when we constantly override our own deep desires and purposes in order to
address other's needs for attention or diversion.

You cannot change anyone else in order to build a better friendship.
You can only change yourself and modify what you bring to the
friendship.  Here are nine "lessons" you may want to learn in order to
create, maintain and evolve a true friendship.

1.  Give your friend more than he/she expects.  Give, not for their
sake or the sake of the friendship.  Rather, give for the joy you create
by giving.

2.  Be quick to accept and forgive the hurts which are always
involved in friendship.  You can't realistically expect to dance closely and
never step on one another's toes.  When you apologize and ask for
forgiveness, look them directly in the eye.  Don't let little conflicts
injure a great friendship.

3.  Consciously choose your friends.  Co-dependent friendships are
usually unconsciously chosen.  Intentionally choose your friend on a
"soul-level."

4.  Always tell the truth to your friends.  Tell it about yourself.
Tell it about them.  Tell it about your friendship.  Ralph W. Emerson once
described "being permitted to speak truth" as one essential criterion for
friendship.

5.  Acknowledge who your friend is now.  Accept that they may grow,
change, and evolve.  Sometimes your own growth as well as your friend's will
result in the dissolution of the friendship.  Realize that such transitions
are natural and rejoice in them.  Be patient with emerging friendships.

6.  Risk loving deeply.  Approach loving with reckless abandon.  All
great achievements, all great friendships, all great loves, involve great
risks.  Even if you are afraid, risk being loving in your friendships.

7.  Make friends with those you love to talk with.  Share your
knowledge.  Listen passionately to theirs.  When you leave such a
conversation, you will always feel energized.

8.  Spend time alone.  This will increase your self-awareness and
the likelihood you will take full responsibility for your own thoughts,
feelings and actions regarding your friendship...regarding your life.

9.  Honor your friendship with gentle respect.  Trying to force a
friendship is like tearing open a flower bud to make it bloom faster.
Forcing the evolution of friendships will destroy them.

Learn and practice these nine lessons in friendship, and within your
lifetime you may evolve more than just five true friendships.  You will
certainly become a true friend yourself.

Life is fundamentally a matter of growing, a growth experience. Missing
the mark is one of the ways in which we learn to hit the target.
Failure is a vital part of achieving success. We have erroneously
thought of success as "getting there" while actually success is
"earning the right to be there." And earning means learning. Setbacks,
even failures, may be an important part of that learning.

ATTITUDE

The longer I live, The more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important
than the past, than education, than money, then circumstances, than
failures, than successes, than what other people think, say, or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will
make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is
we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for
that day. We cannot change our past... We cannot change the fact that
people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the innevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that
is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me
and 90% how I reacte to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge
of our attitudes.

One Day My Soul Just Opened Up
(by Gemmia L. Vanzant)

"One day my soul just opened up
and things started happenin'
things I can't quite explain
I mean
I cried and cried like never before
I cried tears of ten thousand mothers
I couldn't even feel anything because
I cried 'til I was numb.

One day my soul just opened up
I felt this overwhelming pride
what I was proud of
only God knows!
Like the pride of a hundred thousand fathers
basking in the glory of their newborn sons
I was grinnin' from ear to ear!

One day my soul just opened up
I started laughing
and I laughed for what seemed like forever
wasn't nothin' particularly funny goin' on
but I laughed anyhow
I laughed the joy of a million children playin'
in the mud
I laughed 'til my sides ached
Oh God! It felt so good!

One day, my soul just opened up
There were revelations, annihilations, and resolutions
feelings of doubt and betrayal, vengeance and forgive-
ness, memories of things I'd seen and done before
of places I'd been, although I don't know when
there were lives I'd lived
people I'd loved
battles I'd fought
victories I'd won
and wars I'd lost.

One day my soul just opened up
and out poured all the things
I'd been hiding
and denying
and living through
that had just happened moments before.

One day, my soul just opened up
and I decided
I was good and ready!
I was good and ready
to surrender
my life to God.

So, with my soul wide open,
I sat down
wrote Her a note
and told her so."

The Secrets of Heaven and Hell

The old monk sat by the side of the road. With his eyes
closed, his legs crossed and his hands folded in his lap, he
sat. In deep meditation, he sat.
Suddenly his zazen was interrupted by the harsh and
demanding voice of a samurai warrior. "Old man! Teach me
  about heaven and hell!"
At first, as though he had not heard, there was no
perceptible response from the monk. But gradually he began
to open his eyes, the faintest hint of a smile playing
around the corners of his mouth as the samurai stood there,
waiting impatiently, growing more and more agitated with
  each passing second.
"You wish to know the secrets of heaven and hell?"
replied the monk at last. "You who are so unkempt. You whose
hands and feet are covered with dirt. You whose hair is
uncombed, whose breath is foul, whose sword is all rusty and
neglected. You who are ugly and whose mother dresses you
funny. You would ask me of heaven and hell?"
The samurai uttered a vile curse. He drew his sword and
raised it high above his head. His face turned to crimson
and the veins on his neck stood out in bold relief as he
prepared to sever the monk's head from its shoulders.
"That is hell," said the old monk gently, just as the
  sword began its descent.
In that fraction of a second, the samurai was overcome
with amazement, awe, compassion and love for this gentle
being who had dared to risk his very life to give him such a
teaching. He stopped his sword in mid-flight and his eyes
  filled with grateful tears.
"And that," said the monk, "is heaven."
