First off, this is NOT a book about positive
thinking - it is about positive feelings and beliefs.
As you say Mr. Luther, "I have not been bound by the five categories of I
WANTS that the book suggests. I find those too limiting and self-serving. I
missed a category about spiritual development. For example I want to be more
loving, trusting, generous, forgiving, patient, etc. And I missed a category
about compassion and justice for the poor, oppressed, and the earth."
When you begin to experience the well being as described fully in this book,
you already are spiritually developing, you already are more loving,
trusting, generous, forgiving, patient, etc. It just comes with the well
being you learn to experience in this book. Well being, God, Spirit, Source,
whatever you call it, is ALWAYS with you, but we have to learn again to
connect with it and that's what this book teaches. Therefore, these are not
listed as "categories." And until you can be selfish enough to get yourself
to this point, then you cannot give to others or help others in a way that
truly makes a difference.
That is YOUR belief about illness. It is not mine or others who think
differently than you do. As you say, "don't expect to be cured because you
follow the teachings of this book," but if you don't EXPECT or BELIEVE you
will be cured, then, of course, you will NOT be cured. And that's not just
about dis-ease, it's about everything in your life.
