Victims by Choice
They sit mournfully in the darkness of the shadows that they believe
consumes their lives. Whether their eyes are open or shut they exist in a reality of their own
making.
Constantly surrounded, bombarded by their past, their pain, prolific and
seemingly insurmountable.
They have rage, disjointed and aimless,
spinning like a top, giving off
sparks,
feeding the flame that burns in their minds.
Victims of circumstance, by choice now.
Constantly delving hopelessly into what
they have no desire to understand or
change.
They are victims, if only by choice, of their lives, that beseeches them to
die over and over again in the blackness of their minds.
