Moon Phase Ceremonies, Rituals, Spells and Intentions

Depending on your intention or ceremony, you should aim to work them with the cycles of the moon to receive the most effective results. The three aspects of the moon are the Waxing (or New), Full and Waning.

The New Moon/Waxing

The three days after the New Moon are the most powerful times to work spells for growth and beginnings which should manifest at the Full Moon.

The Moon is waxing and growing. This should be a time to plan ceremonies that introduce new beginnings and new projects, initiation and enhancement. A new career, house move, job, relationship, any new venture in life.

Full Moon

The days just before the Full Moon are the most powerful times for fruition and completion.

This is a time when the Moon is at its most powerful, and the magic most potent. Performing any positive intention/ritual at this time will achieve good results. This is the ideal time for healing, guidance, and completion.

Waning Moon

The casting out of the old ways, banishing old habits, smoking, eating habits, the removal of troubles and worries, banish evil influences, lessen or remove obstacles and illness, neutralize enemies, and to remove harm.

Remember that even though the Moon looks Full Moon in the sky for two or three nights, it is only EXACT at the time posted on your calendar. Anything after that time is a waning influence. Do your Full Moon spell before the exact time listed. (The First Quarter is the point between the New Moon and the Full Moon. The Last Quarter is the mid-point between the Full Moon and New Moon.)

	New Moon - The Moon's un-illuminated side is facing the Earth. The Moon is not visible (except during a solar eclipse).
	Waxing Crescent - The Moon appears to be partly but less than one-half illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon's disk that is illuminated is increasing.
	First Quarter - One-half of the Moon appears to be illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon's disk that is illuminated is increasing.
	Waxing Gibbous - The Moon appears to be more than one-half but not fully illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon's disk that is illuminated is increasing.
	Full Moon - The Moon's illuminated side is facing the Earth. The Moon appears to be completely illuminated by direct sunlight.
	Waning Gibbous - The Moon appears to be more than one-half but not fully illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon's disk that is illuminated is decreasing.
	Last Quarter - One-half of the Moon appears to be illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon's disk that is illuminated is decreasing.
	Waning Crescent - The Moon appears to be partly but less than one-half illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon's disk that is illuminated is decreasing.
