My son was born with a 'shadow'. While I do not have one, my mother and my maternal grandfather (now deceased) also were born with these 'shadows'. I've heard a lot of theories on these beings... some truly outrageous and silly. I am curious if anyone out there has some idea who or what these beings are.
My own feeling is that they are guardians however, they can be extremely impish. My son's likes to take the form of a cat. It will sit in a window behind the curtain. When I go to pet it, thinking it is infact our very large black cat, it 'disappears' or I will get distracted by the real cat, who is usually sitting in the hallway by this time looking at me. Needless to say, I get spooked.
This may sound crazy and I'm sorry. This is just a reality in our home. It's not until I'm telling someone outside of the family about 'shadow' that I realize that this probably sounds quite insane.
I've tried to look this thing up in books but most of the books out there regard such beings as 'demonic' which is silly. This being usually shows up just before someone gets sick and actually, shortly before 9-11 we all caught many many glimpses of it. It really seems to be more like a warning.
I'm curious as to the insight of others.
