I did not state that evil does not exist. You would never hear me say that. What I know to be true is that this 'shadow' is simply a part of my son's life, my mother's life and was a part of my grandfather's life as well. We live with this thing in our house...it has simply always been.

I've seen the Mothman Prophecies. I've also done research on that particular being and as usual, Hollywood had it's way with the story line. I promise you, I do not have a mothman living in my house.

Perhaps it was bad to ask this question.

All we have to do is to turn on the t.v. to see evil. I think people's emotions are running high right now and see evil everywhere. Not less than a week ago, I had a local religious group come to my front door, declare that the end of the world is upon us, and that everyone but them will burn in Hell. They then attempted to leave anti-Catholic publications for us to read. When we informed them that we were Catholic they bolted.

For the record, I make every effort to make my home a safe haven for my family and friends. I am the person who is posed with the issue of no one wanting to leave my house once they have entered. They settle down in a soft chair and you can literally see stress leave their face.

I appreciate your thoughts and your response. I truly do. Don't be so quick to assume that I dismiss the thought of evil in the world. I do dismiss it in my home though...

For the record, the more you learn about the Mothman the more he or it actually sounds not so much like a demon or something evil but something sent simply to warn. For all we know as small little humans with a limited capacity for knowledge, he very well could be an angel. Who ever said that a true angel would be kind? In fact, most literature states just the opposite. They are harsh, fierce and have the purpose of defending God. In essence, they are warriors. To my knowledge, the mothman never actually hurt anyone. He simply went from house to house of the vicitims who would soon die in the bridge incident. It's all a matter of perspective.

It's a dangerous thing to label things we do not understand as evil. On a basic level, we run the risk of being like the Warren's, self proclaimed psychics, who run around scaring the life out of people simply for the excitement of it all. On a deeper level, the assumption of evil, based on limited knowledge and fear alone, causes catostrophic events... like Nazi's, the K.K.K., Skinheads, holy wars, gay bashing, 9-11... the list goes on and on. Our world is a history of wars based on fears and lack of knowledge or...an unwillingness to learn.

Sorry, I've written a small book here. I guess you sparked some emotion in me and I have a lot to say.

Thanks again!
