This is a confusing subject. I never really thought about it until now. I guess my thoughts are that we can love from afar just as well as we do from close up. Just because we have to cut someone off because of ill treatment -- it does not mean we are judging them or wish them bad things.
Ultimately, I believe we still love the people who hurt us the most, we are just unable to continue letting them hurt us -- for our own well being -- but we aren't really judging them -- so I think that is still a form of unconditional love.... Sometimes cutting somone off is the best thing we can do for their sake (as well as our own). Sometimes letting go is the most unconditional love we can show another -- because that is what he/she needs to grow and to learn.
