I don't think I could have said it better than Merguey. I have an article posted on my website titled..."Does Vicki do free readings?" But Mergueys statement sums it up nicely.
Let me share just one of the storys I have experienced where free psychic readings are concerned.
In the first 2-3 years of reading professionally, because of my Christian background and being taught for SO many years that fore seeing was wrong...I dealt with some pretty strong personal issues within myself.
Of course, one of those issues were...How can I charge IF INDEED my gift is God given? So...as an understatement...I gave a lot of FREE READINGS away. I charged a very small fee. $5 to $10 for 2 hour long readings! What happened is I would read for a friend, they would tell their friend....that friend would call me or come by for a reading...then they went on to tell their friends about me, so now I am reading people 5-6 times removed from the person I knew well. In fact, this is when I started to provide phone readings because my friend Jamie's sister had a friend who had an aunt in Florida who really needed my help. So...this is how I actually began to read for clients nationally. It was word of mouth. Back then, I would read and then the client could send me whatever amount of money they could afford, whenever they could.
Sometimes, I would receive $20 other times I would be promised $10 and receive nothing. It didn't matter actually, because I was working another full time job. So any donation was appreciated. I thought I was doing "a good deed". One would look at this scenario and think how very kind of me...to offer such help to strangers with no expectations.
Now with years of reading under my belt and hindsight piled high, I realize that I was NOT reading without cost. I was indeed receiving a couple of things..
I was receiving...EGO FOOD. Because I had only started to read, I NEEDED to hear compliments and praise. This was my boost and built confidence. When I read for someone, it was for free or nearly free. Their true cost? Comments, feedback, critique and confidence. These readings allowed ME to check my accuracy. The free and nearly free readings allowed me to devise statistics to check several abilities. After being tested by my first mentor, my family and friends, I had to make sure that I could connect with strangers and provide them with information from their past...their present and most important at that time.. their future. I was already sure that I could tell folks events of their past and present, about their emotions and emotions of those around them. I had done this my entire life without knowing what I was doing. But now, I had to see if I could view future activity of a life.
These souls allowed me to practice.
Now...when you see FREE PSYCHIC readings posted nicely on an Internet site, or advertised on late night infomercials...you may want to ask yourself...why is this free? Will you be working with a psychic who is in training? This is not a bad thing. My readings years ago were just as accurate as they are today. So...you may indeed get a new psychic who is in their "testing" stage.
That would be the beneficial side of receiving a free read.
Of course, there is a bad side. When you see the FREE attached, you may also get a person who has decided to log onto their computer this evening as a psychic and will be logged on tomorrow as a test piliot for the Air Force. The internet allows folks to play out their fantasys.
Are you willing to take a chance when dealing with important issues?
One thing for certain, there will ALWAYS be an equal exchange of energy. It is a Universal Law. When you give, the giving will come back.
When you take...you will eventually pay a price. Always.
I prefer to know up front the cost. I prefer to know what fee my soul will pay.
